Mizner ParkBuilding a new home in downtown Boca will soon be a thing of the past. If you're looking to build in this area, you better make a decision very soon.

The downtown area has 469 residential units under construction and anther 558 expected to be under construction by the middle of 2014. This has caused the downtown area to run out of residential space.

In fact, 88% of the downtown space allocated for residential units has been developed or scheduled for development. This reality causes the potential for many changes for the future of downtown Boca.

Due to the success of Mizner Park and the building of the downtown area of Boca Raton, a Hyatt Hotel has been proposed for the area. Rentals have always been a big part of downtown, but this area has never had a hotel renting rooms by the night.

The plans for the new hotel were submitted to the city a couple weeks ago. If built, the hotel would be found at the corner of East Palmetto Park Road and Federal Highway. It will have 13 stories and 200 rooms.

This isn't the first time a hotel has been proposed for the area and they have had other proposed by franchise operators. However, if approved, this would be the first downtown hotel to receive the official nod.
