It’s officially that time of year when the snowbirds flock to our little slice of paradise to celebrate the holidays — but why wouldn’t they? Palm Beach County has a surplus of sunshine and a lengthy list of exciting events during the holiday season. So many, in fact, that it can be hard for even the locals to keep up with all of them. That’s why our team has put together a list of all of the most exciting events coming up as we close out December. 

Holiday Parades

No matter where in the area you’re located, you’re sure to find a holiday parade close by. Here are some of the ones coming up:

• 40th Annual Boca Raton Holiday Boat Parade. Holiday boat parades are a staple for holiday events in Palm Beach County.  See the stream of beautiful boats on Saturday, December 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and ending around 8 p.m.
• Lake Worth. The “Grinchmas” themed parade will travel from the corner of Lucerne and Federal to J Street and Lake Avenue on Saturday, December 17 at 6 p.m.

Other Ways to Celebrate the Season

• Hoffman’s Winter Wonderland. A variety of holiday displays, live entertainment and much more can be found at Hoffman’s Chocolates Factory every day this month.
• Holiday in Paradise. Head to South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach before January 1 to see the 600-ton Christmas tree made entirely of sand.
• CityPlace Snowfall. Who said there’s no snow in South Florida? Experience snowfall at CityPlace all month long (without the cold, of course). 
• Kravis Center Shows The Kravis Center will be holding “Beach Boys Christmas” on December 16, and Miami City Ballet’s Nutcracker will hit the stance December 28 through December 30.
• Menorah Lighting. Delray Beach’s menorah lighting will be held in Old School Square on December 24 at 6 p.m.
• 10th Annual Festival of Trees. There’s still time to see more than 25 masterfully decorated trees at Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens! This year’s theme is design throughout history, and tickets can be purchased through December 14.
