Buying a Boca Home During the SummerDespite the popular belief that there are better times of the year to buy a new home or condo than others, each season has different pros and cons that every Boca home buyer should consider before beginning a search. In general, the spring season is usually the busiest time of the year for the housing market, not just here in the Boca Raton area, but also all over the country. And while buyers may be presented with more inventory from early March to late May, they may also be facing stronger competition from other buyers as well, which could drive up the price or how much you eventually pay.

But with the spring of 2017 in the rearview mirror and the calendar now having reached the halfway point of June, the weather is really starting to heat up and summer has officially arrived. For some would-be home or condo buyers, that may mean it’s time to panic; but for others, it’s actually the perfect time of the year to sniff out a great deal on a fabulous new place to live or vacation here in beautiful Boca Raton, Florida.

So if you didn’t have any luck finding something you like during the busy spring market, here are a few reasons why summer is still a great time to buy in Boca Raton:

Sellers are often more motivated

Just like some buyers who get discouraged when failing to secure a new home or condo in the spring, sellers might also begin to worry about whether their home is going to move as the summer season approaches, which often means a higher level of motivation to unload a property. And with fewer buyers out there looking for a home or condo, use this to your advantage at the negotiating table and hopefully save a few bucks along the way!

Summer vacations are a great time to house hunt

With the kids out of school and your annual summer vacation with the family coming up, why not bundle in a home or condo search with your trip to the beach, allowing you to fill two needs with one deed so-to-speak. In other words, if you’re going to be down here vacationing anyway, clear out an afternoon and check out a few Boca Raton homes or condos that are currently listed. And if you’re with a Realtor who knows the market well and can help plan out your entire day of showings efficiently and effectively, you’ll be back out on the beach in no time!

Less buyer competition means less stress

As alluded to above, the summer season often means you’ll be facing less competition from other Boca Raton home buyers, which of course can lead to you having an easier time securing a property you like. And while that may not always be the case and every market is different, the chances of a bidding war drop considerably at the very least, which can quite possibly take a little stress off the home buying process—something any seasoned home buyer know can already be stressful enough.
