Spring Cleaning Tips For Home Owners in BocaIt’s hard to believe the first month of 2018 is already in the books, but here we are nearly a week  down in February with the busy spring market right around the corner. And speaking of spring, there’s hardly a better time to deep clean your home and get everything in order, even down here in South Florida where the sun shines all year long and we’re not coming off another cold and dreary winter season.

But before you fill up the water buckets and put on your rubber gloves, here are 5 easy spring cleaning chores that are both necessary and also won’t take all that long.

Degunk kitchen appliances

The kitchen is always a great place to start spring cleaning, and spending some time on your kitchen appliances is a logical first step. Don’t just throw out any old food but also scrub down the shelves, the walls, and the seals.

Scrub down your baseboards

While we’re on the topic of scrubbing things down, don’t forget the baseboards throughout your entire home. Most scuff marks will come out with a little elbow grease, and you’ll be surprised at how much nicer your home looks with baseboards that are spotless.

Don’t forget the screens

It’s safe to say the most homes in Boca feature a screened-in patio, or at least screens on some of the windows. So while you’re going around spraying Windex® all over your windows, grab some soapy water and gently wipe down the screens too.

Replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

Almost nobody enjoys cleaning their home, which is why you have no excuse to neglect this spring cleaning tip—it doesn’t involve any cleaning whatsoever. And although you don’t necessarily need to change the batteries in your smoke detectors every single year, it’s not a bad habit to get into either.

Organize the pantry

Everyone’s pantry gets cluttered at some point. It just seems to happen no matter how hard you try to keep it nice and tidy. But while you’re in cleaning mode this spring, you might as well tidy up your food storage areas too. Dividing your pantry into certain zones or categories is a great way to keep it organized moving forward, and it can also save you some time during meal-prep as well. And who couldn’t use another way to save some time in today’s on-the-go lifestyle most of us live nowadays?
