New Construction Homes in Boca When it comes to buying a new home there are several things to consider, including how well you’re protected in the case that something goes wrong down the line. The damage left in the wake of Hurricane Irma is just one more reminder of what new homebuyers need to research when buying new construction in Florida.

Home warranties

Homebuilders have a responsibility to ensure that new construction homes are habitable. This extends to a certain quality of workmanship so that, for instance, a roof doesn’t leak and the home’s heating and ac units actually work. While Florida law maintains certain requirements for builder warranties, you’ll want to clarify with a builder how long a warranty lasts and what it includes, making a written warranty a good idea…

Hurricane Irma has devastated much of Florida, and we in the Boca Raton area have emerged very lucky and intact compared to much of our state. Palm Beach County New Construction Homes Under $300,000As you may have perviously heard or read about in a recent article from the Sun-Sentinel, new construction single-family homes under $300,000 in both Palm Beach and Broward counties are becoming increasingly difficult to find on today’s housing market, which to active buyers already browsing what’s available, is hardly news at this point.

So just why exactly is it so hard to find an affordable new construction home in Boca Raton or the surrounding area? Well, thanks to a very active market, labor shortages, and rising costs for land and building materials, home builders all over the South Florida region are opting to build for luxury home buyers rather than for first-time buyers or young and growing families, leaving a significant shortage of newly…
