The Florida Realtors® report for December 2016 is in, and Palm Beach County’s numbers are interesting. Keeping with trends demonstrated in past months, sales slowed down slightly as the year closed out — reflective of a market that may be shifting from one that favors sellers.  However, the other statistics brought good news for buyers and sellers alike. 

Single Family Homes in Palm Beach County

 The market for single-family homes was healthy in December, despite a slight drop in closed sales. Completed transactions fell by 4.9 percent, sitting at 1,413 at the end of the month. On the other hand, the month’s supply of inventory jumped 11.4 percent when compared year-over-year. More listings entered the market than in 2015 as well, with 6.6 percent…

Palm Beach County’s residential real estate market seems to be balancing out, according to the Florida REALTORS® November 2016 market report. Unlike in October when sales rose but inventory continued to expand, the latest statistics point to a more leveled playing field for buyers and sellers. The report detailed a much needed growth in active inventory for the local residential real estate market, as well as increased sales.

South Florida Real Estate Market

According to the Florida REALTORS® October 2016 market report, South Florida’s residential real estate market is slowing down. While listing inventories increased, the number of closed sales decreased. These statistics are in favor of buyers because of a larger inventory, while sellers may be at a disadvantage when negotiating prices.

October’s statistics for Palm Beach County properties mimicked the trends of the overall South Florida region. The most notable figure from the report is a combined 12.1% reduction in overall sales of all property types in Palm Beach County.
